Pest Control Tips for
Hornets
The
most common are the Bald-Headed
White-Faced Hornets
The
North American Bald-Faced
(or white faced) hornet at all, it is a cousin to the wasp or yellow
jacket. If you have
read my article on paper wasp
nest removal, much of the same techniques will be used with the
Bald-Faced
hornet.

Prevention: As
with all pests, the best prevention is home maintenance. While I am in the habit of
looking around my
home at least twice a month, many homeowners may never actually inspect
their
home. Not that this
is bad, but it can
allow for minor infestations like the hornets nests to take hold. From March through late
August (depending on
your location in the United States), a routine inspection of the eaves
of your
home and a thorough search of the trees and shrubs around the yard will
more
than likely ward off these mean buggers.

At
the first sign of a nest, remove it immediately.
At a small size such as the pictures above,
there will only be one maybe two hornets and will be very easy to
manage. I still
need to stress, one of these dudes is
still pretty mean... As
the nest grows,
more adults make the removal much more dangerous.
